Happy, happy Friday! We’re back with another edition of our {Meet} the NC blogger series. This week we have Krista of Cookie Cutter Vegan on the blog. Get to know her below and swing by her blog and say hello.
{Meet} Krista of Cookie Cutter Vegan
1. How long have you been blogging?
I’ve had a number of blogs over the years (one for almost three years!), but I didn’t really find my groove until May 2016, when I started a blog that transformed into Cookie Cutter Vegan.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I had a busy summer ahead of me and figured writing about it would be a great way to look back on what I’ve done. Additionally, I love eating and living healthy, and if sharing what I like doing or eating can help someone else on a similar journey, then that’s what I want to do!
3. What do you blog about?
I started off my blog by posting about the different things I was doing each weekend. I had a busy summer ahead of me, and I figured writing about it would be the best way to document it. I now write other types of posts, such as recipe posts, lists of things I enjoy that I think others might as well, and tutorials.
4. Where are you blogging from in NC?
I’m blogging from a small city just outside the Outer Banks. I spend a lot of time in the OBX on weekends in the spring and summer, since it’s so close.
5. Out of all the posts you’ve written, which one (or two) would you pick as your favorite?
My two favorite posts would have to be the one on my Vegan Cinnamon Rolls, because that was one of my first baking experiments without eggs or milk that turned out pretty tasty, and my recent post on taking apart a jackfruit. I love looking back on how much I’ve grown within even a few months and all of the new experiences I’ve had!
6. What blog(s) do you love?
My favorite blogs right now include Simply Taralynn, Minimalist Baker, and The Conscious Eater.
7. What’s one piece of advice you’d offer your fellow bloggers?
One piece of advice I’d offer fellow bloggers would be to not get discouraged! If you haven’t yet found what you enjoy writing about, think about what you enjoy doing. Do you have knowledge that might help others? Share what you know! Others may find it helpful and share their experiences, too. You never know– you could end up with an awesome restaurant recommendation when visiting a new area, or some new tips on something you’ve written about.
8. What’s are two things do you know to be true?
- It’s important to get outside your comfort zone. That’s when you grow the most.
- Not to take anything too seriously. We’re all living the human experience.
- If you’re given an opportunity to do something awesome, take it! I went on a couple roller coasters for the first time a while back (I’d never gone on them in that park). It was crazy! I was nauseous after two, but it was a great experience, and I’ll do it again next time… before lunch!
9. Where can we find you on the web?
- Blog: cookiecuttervegan.com
- Instagram: @peasbwithyou
- Twitter: @peasbwithyou
And finally, is there anything else you’d like to add that you want people to know about you – professional affiliations, any other place they can find you, etc.
I can be found on Tumblr now as kristak723, as well. If you need an answer to something, a positive quote, or pictures of baby animals, you can find it on Tumblr; it’s essentially the millennial StumbleUpon.
Let's keep the conversation going ...
