Welcome, Ultimate Blog Party 2014 Friends!
What’s up party people? Welcome to Life in the DayngrZone, where I blog all about my adventures and life along North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. I’ve been partying it up with 5 Minutes for Mom’s Ultimate Blog Party since 2010 and every year the Ultimate Blog Party seems to get better and better! I’ve made some great friends and I’m looking forward to calling you a friend, too. I sincerely appreciate everyone who takes the time to visit my website, subscribe and comment and I always do my best to return the favor. I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts and hearing what you’ve got to say. So much has changed around here since last year’s party. I will try to catch you up.
Florida to North Carolina
Up until 2012, I was living life in Florida, born and raised in Miami. Then I decided it was time to move someplace with four temperate seasons, lots of green grass, trees, close to the beach and forest, with better schools but with less traffic and crime. We waved goodbye to big city life and settled down in a sweet, small-town along the east coast of North Carolina. That’s our home below. Now that you’re here, have a look around!
A Little About Me
I’m a mom to two 3rd graders (lovingly referred to as the Dayngrous Duo) and one United States Marine – all three are amazing people. I love digital photography, collecting inspirational quotes, traveling, being a bit of a foodie, dining out, exploring my state, reading, and blogging (of course!). Currently scheduled on my DVR: Revenge, Scandal, Resurrection, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, and I never miss an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I’m a former military wife and the founder of a charitable organization that supports our troops.
I’m a total girly girl, who loves the color pink (you probably noticed), pretty paper, colored pens, and coach purses. I still send cards and write thank you notes. I love surprising people with random acts of kindness. My new home is still a work in progress so I am totally falling in love with decorating and looking for the perfect finds. I’ve got a twisted sense of humor and I don’t mind laughing at myself. Oh, and I really like organizing. {I know, I have issues.}
Living My Dream Job
In between being called mommy (every 5 minutes), I’m living my dream job, working from home as full-time Digital Marketing Strategist, and running my own business: DayngrZone Media. If you love all things social media, be sure to check out my social media page and grab my freebies. I’m a girl geek and founder of Social Media Club Crystal Coast and Crystal Coast Geek Breakfast, so if you’re a local or just visiting our great area, you’re invited! I love all things social. Therefore, you can find me on Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr, G+, Facebook and Twitter, having fun. Let’s connect!
Have I Mentioned My Blog Addiction
My blog just turned 8, April 1st! I’ve had this website since 1997 and I’ve been ranting and raving here ever since. So what can you expect from this website? There’s a little something for everyone. If you like lifestyle blogs then you’ll enjoy “Life in the DayngrZone” and all it has to offer. There’s never a dull moment around here… like the time I gave Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome a tour of Miami or when I stumbled into the middle of Occupy Wall Street, without even realizing it!
If you love learning about social media marketing, strategy, content, tips, and resources then you’ll enjoy DayngrZone Media. You can subscribe to both or just the one that appeals to you.
Every other Tuesday, I co-host Motherhood Chat on Twitter {#MotherhoodChat} where moms connect and give each other the support we so richly deserve. I hope you’ll join us. I write a sassy series called “Dear Bloggers” where I offer tips and suggestions for getting the most out of your blog. I also write a fun “Flashback Friday” series where I pretty much poke fun at myself and you’re welcome to laugh at me, too.
UBP 2014 Party Sampler
Since this may be your first visit, I thought I’d include a few random posts. Just a handful to whet your appetite and hopefully spark your interest. So, in no particular order here’s some of what you’ll typically find around here:
- 50 Things I Learned About Social Media the Hard Way
- Cute Girly Bedroom Refresh
- What Kind of Car Would a Giraffe Drive?
- It’s Not Old-Ass Luggage, It’s Vintage Hand-Carried
You Make My Day
Comments and regular readers make my day. I’m parenting partner-less and I crave connections with fellow moms and bloggers. I’d be honored if you subscribed and followed along if you like what you’ve found here.
Now, tell me a little bit about you! If you leave a comment, I’ll swing by for a visit and leave a comment on your blog, too.

Hi Trish! I love your social media blog and just subscribed. Thanks for stopping by The Secret Surprisinista. It sounds like we have a lot in common. I too love pink, I’m a girly girl, and I live in Florida and have thought very seriously about moving to North Carolina. I really want to move to Asheville and would love your thoughts on NC. You have a beautiful home, by the way and yes, I get it, it feels amazing to be living the dream and doing what you love to do :-)
Love and Luck,
Laurali Star
Trish Forant says
We sure do, Laurali! I think you would love Asheville, it’s eclectic and artsy. My parents used to have a vacation home there when I was a child. I think you’d really enjoy it an your business would do really well there. If you’re on Twitter, let’s chat!

Your house is gorgeous, and it’s my favorite color! My house is a boring white and desperately needs new siding. It’s a work in progress! :) Glad I stopped by! I think I’d better sign up for your newsletter. ;)
Trish Forant says
Thank you, Ginny! I fell in love with it when I saw it and knew it was meant to be. Now I’m working on the inside. :)
