1st Grade Week 2: Here’s What We’re Learning
First grade is in full swing. The kids are excited, which is typical in the first few weeks. This is their second year at their charter school, Mater Academy, so they’re pretty comfortable with their school and their friends.
Here’s what we’re learning in week two of first grade. As you can see, it covers a wide range of topics for first grade. No worries though. The kids went to private preschool and while they were there they learned all of their sight words, numbers to 100, and did plenty of reading. This may look challenging but it isn’t all that challenging to them. In fact, they were questioning why they had to repeat the things they already knew.
I love how inquisitive they are and that they question things like this. I also thought it was so much fun to have their vocabulary word list created from a book they read that week. I’m sure that reinforces the book in their minds and exposes them to plenty of new words and keeps things fresh.
What are your children learning this week? Is it challenging for them? Do they question their schoolwork?

Looks pretty complicated for 1st grade. Good luck to the kids.
