I’ve got chills… and it’s not just because there are freezing temperatures outside! The North Carolina Theatre’s production of critically acclaimed Grease had its opening night on February 9. This timeless musical features your favorites, Danny Zuko played by Broadway star John Arthur Greene, and Sandy Dumbrowski portrayed by Emily Behny. And it wouldn’t be Grease without the Pink Ladies and The Burger Palace Boys! Ryah Nixon is playing the role of “Marty”, Lilly Tobin as “Frenchy”, Amy Toporek as “Jan”, and Lauren Nicole Cipoletti as the cool group leader “Rizzo”. The Burger Palace Boys features Michael Warrel as the smooth group leader, “Kenickie”, Matthew Rodin as “Doody”, F. Michael Hayne as “Roger”, and Casey Shane as “Tony”. So pull those leather jackets out of storage and get ready to take a trip back to the fabulous fifties with your favorite rock ‘n roll high school as they perform some of your favorite hits from the film.

I can’t believe I missed seeing Grease! I had tickets and had to miss the show due to showing homes to a potential buyer in Durham :-( The Raleigh Memorial Auditorium is my favorite venue too. Hopefully it’ll be back soon.
