Get to know Sarah Potts of Joyfully Organized and the NCBN Virtual Assistant on the NCBN Leadership Team
1. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging about one year now!
2. What do you blog about?
I’m a Christian based lifestyle blog. I mostly write about what’s happening in my life, traveling, and organization.
3. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to keep up with my college friends after we all graduated. I continue to build my blog now, both to keep up with friends but also because I love the blogging community! There are so many great people that I have met online and getting to meet them in person and develop that relationship even further is so exciting to me!
4. What is your FAVORITE post you’ve ever written (you can pick 2)?
My favorite two posts are The Importance of Accountability and Readings at Our Wedding. Both posts are really meaningful to me and I wanted to share because they were things that were on my heart and am passionate about. I love having relationships with friends where we encourage each other towards our goals (especially with exercise because the motivation is not always there for me!). I also loved sharing the readings that were read at our wedding because I really loved all of them. One cousin specifically wrote hers just for us and it was so meaningful. I know during the wedding planning process, I tried to find blog posts on what others had read at their wedding and they were helpful, so after ours I wanted to put my two cents out there as well!
5. What blog do you love?
There are so many different blogs that I love and read on a regular basis. One of the really fun things about blogging for me has been finding other local NC bloggers. I love reading Wetherhills Say I Do, A Beautiful Exchange, and Twin Stripe! They are all a part of NCBN and I’ve been lucky to meet them all in person :)
6. What is your biggest piece of advice for other bloggers?
Don’t let your numbers get you down. There will always be bloggers that are bigger than you. It’s so easy, at least for me, to get sucked into comparison. However, it’s not all about the numbers. We all have a unique voice and perspective and the thing I love about blogging is that we all are able to share that!
7. What are you looking forward to for you as a blogger in the upcoming months (conferences, big blog release, book release, publishing, community, redesign, new content, etc)?
I’m really looking forward to building my community even more. I’m getting together with some blogging friends over the holidays and in 2016 I’ll be attending my first ever blog conference (so excited!!)
