1. How long have you been blogging?Â
I think I got a Tumblr back in 2007 or 2008, though it served more as a random journal and collection of pictures I like than an actual blog. I’ve worked as a professional blogger here and there for a little over a year now, but my personal blog is still very new. We started Thrifting & Bitching in early August of 2014.
2. What do you blog about?
T&B is a collaboration with my two best friends, so you’ll find a bit of everything. But, I mainly blog about beauty and do a lot of product reviews! (I’m a bit of a makeup junkie.)
3. Why did you start blogging?
Well, when I started my Tumblr back in the day, I don’t know that I did it for any real reason (except, maybe, that I was 17 and wanted a place to air my grievances). Luckily, I’ve developed a much happier (and healthier, I’m sure) relationship to blogging over the years. Now, it’s a creative outlet for me. It’s a place to talk about the things that I love with people who share similar interests. Plus, I love to keep busy, so it keeps me on my toes.
4. What is your FAVORITE post you’ve ever written?
Although it differs from the posts I usually make, I think my favorite post on T&B is probably “The Perks of Living Tiny.” It’s about a pipe dream of mine to live, work, and travel in a tiny mobile house. There’s a whole movement behind tiny house living and it’s super fascinating. http://thriftingandbitching.com/2014/08/04/the-perks-of-living-tiny/
5. What blog do you love?
I love Lush to Blush (http://www.lushtoblush.com/). It’s a great balance of personal and style posts. She has a very natural voice in her posts and her pictures are always beautiful!
6. What is your biggest piece of advice for other bloggers?
My biggest piece of advice is to be consistent. Life happens, but try not to take any long hiatuses from blogging. Don’t write in a formulaic way, but make sure that you have a consistent voice in your posts so your readers can get to know you.
7. What are you looking forward to for you as a blogger in the upcoming months (conferences, big blog release, book release, publishing, community, redesign, new content, etc)?
I am looking forward to moving our blog to allow for more customization and then doing a complete redesign. Our blog is still very new and in need of a face lift! Also, I’m very excited to be a part of the NC Blogger Network. I am looking forward to meeting local bloggers and contributing to this community as much as possible!

Thanks, Julie! It’s been a really great way for us to keep in touch and collaborate together now that we’re all so far apart. :) I’ll have to check out your blog as well!
