It’s finally Friday, one of our favorite days of the week! We’re so excited to introduce you to one of our newest members, Erica, of I Style DIY. Take a quick read about Erica and then make sure to give her a warm welcome either in the comments below or on her own blog!
{Meet} Erica of I Style DIY
1. How long have you been blogging?
I began my blog after my 26th birthday in 2015 as sort of a birthday present for myself and I didn’t take it too seriously until the summer of 2016 when I really threw more energy into it. I’d been following a few other DIY and lifestyle blogs and realized I could do it too.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I have always loved creating and making projects and gifts and I wanted a way to share my ideas with others and join a community of other creative individuals.
3. What do you blog about?
I blog about DIY projects that can be done around your house, recipes and beauty.
4. Where are you blogging from in NC?
I blog just outside of Fayetteville. My husband is in the Army and we’re stationed there!
5. Out of all the posts you’ve written, which one (or two) would you pick as your favorite?
My favorite post so far, has been my DIY Snapchat Halloween Costume. It was so much fun to create and wear! I have always loved creating pop culture, “in-the-now” Halloween costumes and I thought the Snapchat filter costume was perfect for that.
6. What blog(s) do you love?
Some of my favorite blogs are Brit + Co, A Beautiful Mess, and Oh Happy Day.
7. What’s one piece of advice you’d offer your fellow bloggers?
Beginning a blog is scary. You’re going to want to compare yourself and your work to others who are already successful but don’t get discouraged. Stay true to yourself and why you wanted to start this blog in the first place.
8. What’s are three things do you know to be true?
- You can DIY anything you see in the stores
- Homemade gifts make EVERYONE happy
- Mason jar crafts will never go out of style (I hope)
9. Where can we find you on the web?
- Website: istylediy.com
- Twitter: @ericamccready
- Instagram: @IStyleDIY
- Pinterest: @rarerica
Be sure to swing by, say hi to Erica, and leave her a little comment love!
