We Tried La Stella Gelato in Morehead City
My friend Daisy and I love exploring and trying new places together. La Stella Gelato was a spot I wanted to try, and Daisy’s birthday was the perfect opportunity to do it.
La Stella Gelato is in Morehead City, inside Triple T’s. It’s across from the Walmart and positioned perfectly between Rise and Shine Nutrition and HappyCakes Cupcakery. I’ve known the owner, Caryn, for a hot minute. If you’re a local, you may remember her as the founder and creator of Bogue Banks Sea Salt. We’ve also worked together on marketing and advertising projects (She’s also a graphic designer). What I love about La Stella Gelato is that Caryn makes all of the flavors and takes pride in crafting and serving them.
What’s The Difference Between Gelato and Ice Cream?
If you’re wondering what the difference is between gelato and ice cream, gelato differs from ice cream primarily in its ingredients and texture; it contains more milk and less cream, resulting in lower fat content, and is churned with less air, giving it a denser, creamier texture. Additionally, gelato is typically served at a slightly warmer temperature, which enhances its flavor intensity.
What We Ordered
Daisy ordered the Amarena Cherry Chip, and I had the Tiramisu – but not before we sampled a few flavors. I have to say, it was a tough decision because everything was delicious.

There are a few spots to sit inside, but the weather was nice, so we took ours to a cute little table outside. It was great catching up, sharing some much-needed girl time, and enjoying each other’s company over these sweet treats. It’s always a good time when we’re together.

Another Trip for Gelato and Sorbet
Since LSG was so well received (how could it not be?) by Daisy, I thought I’d take my daughter to try it, too. I don’t think she’s ever had gelato before, and I know she hasn’t had handcrafted gelato!

Bella decided to get the Cookies and Cream gelato, and she loved it. The flavors do change from time to time to keep things interesting, so be sure to check their social media profiles for what’s available or visit the Flavors section on their website.
