Wrap up your work week by taking a moment to {Meet} Yvonne of The Dahlia Scene! Yvonne’s been an NCBN member since August 2015 and we think she’s the bee’s knees. Grab a latte, a muffin, or whatever’s nearby, and get ready to learn a little bit about one of our amazing bloggers.
{Meet} Yvonne of The Dahlia Scene
1. How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for a total of 2 years, but full time for 1 year.
2. What do you blog about?
I blog about mommy and lifestyle activities. I like to describe it as if Mary Poppins met Anthony Bourdain while eating a doughnut.
3. Where are you blogging from in NC?
Asheville, North Carolina
4. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I found it interesting. I also thought that I could really make it my job and thus not have to have the 2 hour commute each way I was experiencing in Los Angeles.
5. Out of all the posts you’ve written, which one (or two) would you pick as your favorite?
- Not EVERYONE is Happy About Your Pregnancy
- We Have to Stop Telling Our Partners They Are Great Just for Being Good Parents
6. What blog(s) do you love?
A Beautiful Mess, emily p. freeman, and bluegrass redhead
7. What’s one piece of advice you’d share with your fellow bloggers?
Be you. You can’t be anyone else so you’ll just have to do you. The readers will come if you remain true to your authentic self. You don’t have to buy into all the social media. You do have to buy into the parts that you can be authentically you within and give it your all.
8. What are you looking forward to as a blogger in the upcoming months (conferences, big blog release, book release, publishing, community, redesign, new content, etc)?
In the upcoming months, I’m looking forward to releasing my first course out into the ether. My goal is to also write an ebook.
