Get to know Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do
1. How long have you been blogging?
The real answer is that I have been blogging since the days of LiveJournal. But I’ve been seriously blogging and treating it more like a job than a hobby for about a year now!
2. What do you blog about?
Even though my blog is a lifestyle blog, I don’t think of it as just another lifestyle blog like everyone else’s. I blog about a lot of things, because I have always been a bit of a jack of all trades and had a lot of interests. Some things I blog about: food (because yum), marriage, faith, the home, photography and graphic design, with some travel and puppy love in between.
3. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging seriously because of the community. I realized that blogging was much bigger than the giant blogs with millions of followers. I realized there were young wives, post grads, and designers out there just like me who wanted their voice to be heard. More than wanting my own voice to be heard, I have always wanted to be able to encourage others in telling them they are not alone and their story matters.
4. What is your FAVORITE post you’ve ever written? (you can pick 2)
My favorite, favorite? Yeesh that’s hard. One of them has to be my post on building a blogging community. If you don’t know by now, I’m kind of obsessed with community. The other one is a post I did on challenging myself 31 Days of Prayer. I love this post because I wrote it for me but shortly after realized how many other bloggers were craving and needing something like it. It’s my most pinned post and continues to bring so much traffic to my blog.
5. What blog do you love?
Again, just one? You’re killing me ;) So many of my favorite blogs are my close blog friends. Life Could Be A Dream is a dear blog friend but also a rockstar blogger and graphic designer.
6. What is your biggest piece of advice for other bloggers?
My biggest advice for bloggers, ironically, is to get out from behind your posts. To be successful and to really LOVE blogging, you have to connect with others. Whether it’s in real life or just via Twitter chats, find who your blogger people are going to be.
7. What are you looking forward to for you as a blogger in the upcoming months (conferences, big blog release, book release, publishing, community, redesign, new content, etc)?
I am super stoked to be moving to WordPress and redesigning my blog! I recently did a readers survey to get an idea of what my readers want to see added and I’m so excited about adding some awesome functionality to my blog! Another thing I’m really excited for is to be working with new design clients! I also own a graphic design and photography studio called Grace + Vine Studios and I’ve started working with a range of clients from bloggers to business owners.

I love how important community is to you. It’s so true that moving outside of your site can be the best thing. It can be hard at times but so worth it.
